The Harvest Community Church, UCC chapter in conjunction with Soaring Eagles (Nigeria), National Prayer Foundation, Too Much Fellowship and Mountain of Prayer Fellowship is organising a four day Believers’ Conference
on the theme “Stirring Up Your Spiritual Gifts” from Wednesday the 16th to Saturday the 19th of September. Speaking on day one of the programme, Rev. Moses Owusu – Sekyere, head pastor of Harvest Community Church, UK and Germany, said there was the need for modern day Christians to seek after a greater intimacy with the father and strive to connect to the giver of the gifts rather than just seeking after the manifestation of the gifts, he said that there is an error in Christendom today where Christians are running after the blessings and the manifestation of gifts rather than the source of these blessings and gifts. Speaking from Ephesians 6, he said that the church therefore ministers of the gospel have been called to equip, build and develop and before they can accomplish that they need to strive to have a deeper understanding of him. According to him, in fulfilling the scripture of making god known, they need to know him and have a personal relationship with him. Ministry according to him deals basically with capturing the heart of the father and expressing it to others because ministry stems from the bosom of God . He said for any minster to express God or his ministry, he needs to have compassion because it is that compassion that releases the anointing. In closing, he challenged Christians to have an intimate relationship with God and not worship him from afar. |
